Club Services

All YFS-ratified clubs can apply for Club Funding up to a maximum of $800 per event. YFS ratified clubs are also able to receive $200 in Base Funding per year. All application forms are located on the YFS Clubs website and must be filled out online. 

PRINTING

All YFS-ratified Clubs receive $125 worth of photocopying and printing available at the YFS Printing Resource Centre, 346 Student Centre. If the order is a small order (under 100 copies), you can come to the YFS Printing Resource Centre, located in Room 346 Student Centre to get the order completed. Your print job must be saved to a USB.

 

If the order is a large order (over 100 copies), you must e-mail what needs to be printed to our Clubs Coordinator at clubs@yfs.ca at least 4 business days in advance from when you need the material printed.

 

Any items printed for your club will be deducted from the $125 that each club is eligible to receive in printing and photocopying through the YFS. We have the most affordable printing and photocopying on campus. Printing balances expire on April 30 of each year for all clubs. The printing balance becomes active once a club gets ratified or renewed with the YFS.

All YFS-ratified Clubs are able to use the YFS Popcorn, Cotton Candy and Snow Cone Machines for any events that they are hosting. Please visit the rental section of our website for guidelines to book a machine rental. 

Clubs may also rent Xbox One, Play Station 4, board games and projectors.  (Limit of 1 Machine rental at one time per Club).

All YFS-ratified Clubs are eligible to receive one free club banner per year. The banner size should be 42x60" inches (3.5X5' feet) and the file must be a high resolution PDF and have all fonts outlined.

 

There are no restrictions in regards to the amount of colours allowed on a banner. If your club can create the design yourselves, please send the finished image to clubs@yfs.ca to review and print.

 

If your club cannot create the design, our graphic design department can assist. To do so, you will need to submit a Graphic Design Request Form to graphics@yfs.ca.
 

All YFS-ratified Clubs are eligible to receive 100 free business cards per year. The business card size should be 3.5x2" inches and the file must be a high resolution PDF and have all fonts outlined (one file for the front, one file for the back). 

 

There are no restrictions in regards to the amount of colours allowed on a business cards, but all 100 cards must be the same. If your club can create the design yourselves, please send the finished image to clubs@yfs.ca to review and print.

 

If your club cannot create the design, our graphic design department can assist. To do so, you will need to submit a Graphic Design Request Form to graphics@yfs.ca.
 

UNDERGROUND DISCOUNT CARD

Pick up your Underground discount card and save 15% off your meal at the Underground Restaurant in the Student Centre. 

Each club will be issued a special 15% off cards for use when dining at the Underground. The discount cannot be applied to large catering. 

 

LIABILITY INSURANCE

The York University Insurance Policy does not cover some events held by student clubs at York University, so the YFS additional insurance can be helpful to your club. If your event is on campus and requires additional liability insurance, the YFS will be able to provide you with the required $2,000,000 liability insurance (there are some exceptions).

GRAPHIC DESIGN REQUEST

All YFS-ratified Clubs can access the graphic design service by submitting a graphic design request form.

 

The form is available to download on the YFS website and available in person at the YFS Office. 

Each project requires an individual form and all request forms and its accompanying documents (text, images, etc.) must be submitted at least 14 days before the date required to graphics@yfs.ca

All YFS Ratified Clubs require a bank account in the name of the club in order to access or open a bank account.

 

Normally the signing authorities on a club will change from year to year, and may even change throughout the year. To request a bank letter to open a new account or to change the signing authorities of a club please fill out the online Bank Letter Request Form.

 

You will receive email confirmation once your Bank Letter is ready for pick-up.

All YFS ratified clubs have a credit to be used towards Club SWAG items. In order to apply for SWAG, all items must be ordered through the Ethical Purchasing Network that the YFS provides as a service towards clubs. No exceptions can be made.
